Some migrants have arrived

The second migration wave! Hopefully there will be more useful members and less children than the first.

Doren Roderathel and his wife Kadol Tunodgub. Both come with rudimentary farming skills. Doren has some tanning skills which will be put to use right away. Kadol has no important skills so she will be assigned as the first fortress mechanic. They have three children. None moved to Kolsazir with them.

Vabok Kancatten and his wife Onol Larid. Vabok is previously a Wax Worker but there is no need for that in Kolsazir. Instead he will now be the fortress stone crafter. Onol on the other hand has some butchery skills and will be sent to start a butchery in the food processing facility. Their son Tulon Medtobtangath accompanied them.

Five migrants, one child and no vampires. While none were supremely skilled they were all put to good use.

Progress of the Fort

The miners have completed the initial carving of the rooms for the various workshops. Here is an overview of the current layout. (Click to open image)

Some migrants have arrived.

The first migrant wave to arrive at Kolsazir. Six dwarfs are part of this wave.

Morul Desismedtob and his wife Iteb Zonast. Morul has some middling talent in various farming activities, but nothing that is required by the fortress. For now Morul will be the wood burner and furnace operator. His wife is an adequate trader and will be given that position. Their only child, Iton Oddomisak fololwed them.

Minkot Ishenzon is a novice metalsmith. He will work on building copper bins for storage. Two of his children joined him in migrating to Kolsazir. His wife however did not.

Of the six migrants three were children which is not exactly ideal. Two of them are nearing of age though (nine and ten) so they will become valuable members of the fortress soon.

A dwarven outpost

They have arrived. After a journey from the Mountain homes into the forbidding wilderness beyond, their harsh trek has finally ended. The party of seven is to make an outpost for the glory of all of Thob Thum.

Ther are almost no supplies left, but with stout labour comes sustenance. Whether by bolt, plow or hook the dwarves must provide. A supply carvan is expected just before winter entombs the dwarves, but it is spring now. Enough time to delve secure lodges ere the grizzly bears get hungry. A new chapter of dwarven history begins here at this place. Kolsazir - Wheelbridge. Strike the earth!
